The I.R.F.U. require that all 15-a-side games are refereed by either a Full or Associate Referee. It is recommended that all Coaches of 15 a side teams, whether youth or senior, should become certified/qualified..... due to the increased popularity of Rugby and the increase in the number of teams playing at all age groups it will become increasingly difficult to get referees for games.
 
Therefore it is strongly recommended that at least one registered and qualififed Associate Ref be in place for each of the 15 a side teams
