Team Fundraising Policy

1. Purpose of this document

The purpose of this document is to provide guidance to team managers / coaches on what individual team fundraising efforts are approved by the executive committee. It is not the intention of the Executive Committee to be restrictive towards individual team fundraising, but it is important that the efforts of teams do not clash with the fundraising efforts of the club. We need a coherent and planned approach to all fundraising in the club.

2. Background

The FUNdraising & Social Committee will have an extensive list of events planned for each year to help meet the fundraising target for the club. These events are likely to include a few quiz nights, social events around match days including International games, BBQ at club on match days, Golf events, Camp Out event etc. It is imperative that these events are supported by the entire club – for the good off the club.

3. Permitted Fundraising

Any club team that needs to raise funds, for a trip or for team wear for the team, needs to abide by this policy and general club rules – for the good of the club. The following will be permitted fundraising efforts – (subject to the rules below)

1.       BBQ at a home match day in the club

2.       Your Club – Your Country Tickets

3.       Outside sponsorship from companies

4.       Other events that are pre-approved

4. Rules

         i.            BBQ’s must be pre-approved by FUNdraising & Social & Executive committees to avoid a clash with other planned events. BBQ days will be limited and will need to be shared with other teams.

ii.            Outside Sponsorship must not compromise the Club’s ability to raise funds from local companies and so any approaches to potential sponsors must be agreed with Finance & Executive Committees.

iii.            Each team may keep for their own use the proceeds of Your Club Your Country Tickets after they have sold 25 tickets for the club.

iv.            Any additional fundraising efforts must be pre-approved by the Executive & Finance Committees.

5. Reporting

A summary of the income and expenditure for any fundraising activities must be sent to the executive committee.
